Elizabeth City, NC – TARDIS Cabinets, a long-running creative workshop founded in 1983, has announced its relaunch under the direction of craftsman Gary Dorr. Known for handcrafted solid wood boxes and cabinets inspired by the imagery of the Doctor’s time machine, the project combines functionality with artistry while preserving a sense of whimsy and imagination.

For more than four decades, Dorr has produced a wide range of custom woodwork, including ring boxes, dice tumblers, wall clocks, and urns. Each piece reflects his dedication to combining craft traditions with imaginative design. Having worked for many years in the hills of South Wales, he has now returned to the United States to reestablish his workshop in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

The relaunch of TARDIS Cabinets marks a new chapter in continuing a body of work that bridges nostalgia, creativity, and practical utility. The workshop aims to build upon its established legacy while expanding its collection of handcrafted pieces that reflect both personal memory and cultural inspiration.
